How are funds being used?
Local donations are made directly in Romanian Lei to “asociația PRIMA DATĂ ACASĂ”, the local non-profit that manages the land and will oversee the building of the support wall in the „Britta Sofia” community. We are the same team as the Fuller Center for Housing of Cluj, Romania, working together for a common goal or a local and international level.
All funds donated on this page will be bookmarked for the support wall project, which is essential to develop the community past 2026. A financial report will be sent to each individual donor by email, provided they agree to hear from us.
Can I feel confident that my donation will be managed responsibly?
We have a 26-year old track record in this social housing program, but we know trust is earned on a daily basis. Once we reach our ambitious fundraising goal, we’ll keep all donors up-to-date with the progress of the work and the use of funds. We are here to answer any questions, and we’re open to explaining the need, the project and this solution to anyone willing to participate.
Dozens of Global Builders work with us every year, serving families in need, and we always been transparent with the challenges we face in building our community. Most of them have seen the need we are facing first-hand.
Institutionally, the NGO is led by an all-volunteer Board of Directors who have no financial stake in the organization and can not be paid. We adhere to good supply chain practices to select contractors and have rules in place to prevent conflicts of interest.
100% of funds donated on this project will go towards building the support wall, and are collected in a dedicated account.
Donation does not go through
Easiest fix: we suggest you use the US website. Some US debit and credit cards are not enrolled in the 3D Secure verification system, which is usually required by the local payment processor. Also, since you don’t usually shop online from “.ro” websites, your bank may flag the transaction as suspicious and require extra verification steps on your mobile device.
Your card details are managed by the payments processor and are not seen or saved by us.
Are donations made public?
On this website, we implicitly publish a limited set of data (either first name and donation amount, or initials and donation amount, plus any message you write during the donation process). We do not publish personal information like full name or email address. You can choose to keep your donation private (not listed on our website) by ticking the appropriate check-box when you donate; we will still see the details, but the donation will appear online as Anonymous.
